Week 10

Post-Mortem
What we were trying to do is create a treasure room. My role in this project was to create assets relevant to the atmosphere. I created the statue, scroll, books, ring, bracelet, necklace, throne, carpet, ramp, torch and gold bar. All of these include models and textures. I also did a little work on the room set up.
What Went Right?
1.      All assets were complete:
·         All assets that we wanted to physically be in the level were present for the final presentation. Everyone was able to maintain their part in creating this project. I was happy that I got the head modeled for the statue.
2.      Milestones were met:
·         All milestones were met and we didn’t have any trouble finishing our work on time.
3.      Finished the room:
·         Room was up and ready to go when the project was due. All lighting, textures and models were complete and ready to go also. We were also able to polish our project with the extra time we had at the end by adding more models and making the scene look pretty.

What Went Wrong?
1.      Couple of meshes didn’t make it:
·         Even though the project turn out well we still had a couple of meshes we wanted to add. (Treasure Chest, Mirror, Rope Leading to Chandelier) all had to be cut due to complications with textures, modeling or difficulty.
2.      Size issues:
·         I think we could have done a better job when it came to scaling. Some of the models seem to be the right size, while others seemed too big.

The main thing that I would do differently is worked harder to get those cut assets into the scene. I think they would have added to the final outcome. Also, communication got better after the mid-modem but I still think it could have been a lot better. I am still happy with the outcome and we are planning on uploading it onto the UDK site to see what the world thinks.
